Fleet Factors Community Fund at Christmas 2022

We established our Community Fund in 2022 to raise money and awareness through employee-driven events. These events are generously supported by staff, and suppliers and donations are gathered by our team members. Fleet Factors pledge to match donations into the fund* thus doubling its value.

We aim to support as many charitable causes as possible, focusing on different needs within the communities located around our depot sites, across the UK.

Christmas is a time for giving back and spreading generosity and kindness. Part of our Fleet Festivities this year is to support local causes, chosen by team members in each of our regions, making it personal to them, as well as meeting the specific needs of each region.

For our festive donation in Scotland, are proud to support St. Andrew's Hospice in Airdrie.

St Andrew's Hospice offers well-being support to help those in need of their services, maintain control of their condition, and provide support to attain any goals important to them. Patients are provided with a homey, welcoming environment where they can receive round-the-clock nursing care, advice, and support for adults and children. They also provide incredible bereavement support for families affected.

Our chosen charity for our festive donation based in the Midlands is MIND.

MIND focus on making mental health an everyday priority, standing up for injustices in healthcare, work, and law, in ways that make life harder for those with mental health problems. They offer help and support and raise awareness of mental health and those silently suffering.

We have chosen the Hull Homeless Community Project for our festive donation for the North.

Hull Homeless Community Project provides services and lifelines to individuals and their families affected by or at risk of homelessness, poverty, and crisis in Hull and the surrounding area. Along with this, they also run several dedicated drop-in sessions on a weekly basis in safe environments for vulnerable women and victims of modern slavery, as well as an open to all general drop-in session.

Our chosen charity for our festive donation to the South is Live Unlimited in Barnet.

Live Unlimited was established to provide support and opportunities to children in care and young care leavers with services to improve their mental health and well-being, reduce their social isolation, help develop new skills and provide pathways to finding fulfilling and sustainable jobs

Our chosen charity for our festive donation in the North-West is the Manchester Library Book Gifting Appeal for children.

The Children's Book Appeal aims to provide new books to children who otherwise wouldn't get the opportunity. They believe every child should have the chance to get lost in a good book, hoping this scheme will encourage people to see the joy in reading. Due to the current cost of living crisis, some parents are struggling to provide core essentials, such as food and heating, which is why it's so important we support children during this time. Reading is the foundation of excellence in schools and workplaces, which is why we should be encouraging reading, and making books more accessible to less fortunate families.

It is a privilege to be able to give back to so many worthy causes, especially during the holiday period. We look forward to continuing our support for local communities in 2023.
