It is broadly accepted that climate change is a global issue, caused by human activity, affecting all
areas of the world. Accordingly, Fleet Factors are taking steps to reduce the carbon emissions caused
because of our business operations. This makes good sense environmentally and economically.
1. Introduction
1.1We are conscious that the environment
in which we work and live is changing rapidly.
The effect of population growth, diminishing natural resources and an increase in
greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activity are demonstrated by waste
pollution levels and climate change affecting communities across the world.
1.2 Fleet Factors is committed to reducing
the environmental impact of our operations by
ensuring that we do all that we can to mitigate our contribution to climate change given
the adverse impact that this is having on the world. Our commitment is to comply with
all relevant legislation in the countries where we, and our suppliers, operate and to
consult and share our methods of doing so, and achievements, with all stakeholders
connected to the business, both internal and external.
1.3This policy has been produced
in line with Fleet Factor’s organisational values of inclusivity, consideration, reliability, and dynamism.

Purpose and Aim
2.2Fleet Factors are conscious as a business that there is a need to balance any
environmental commitments with other business considerations.
2.3
Notwithstanding this point, it is our aim for the environmental considerations that are
required to become a fundamental part of our day to operations where we seek to
continually improve our environmental performance by and investigating and
implementing schemes to reduce operational waste and carbon emissions resulting
from heat, power and travel.
2.4
Fleet Factors operates within all environmental, legal and other requirements as
required by all applicable UK/EU law and best practice.

Fleet Factors has attained ISO14001 certification in environmental management systems
and will maintain this accreditation as a minimum standard for all present and future
environmental and carbon reduction initiatives.
Scope
2.6
The aim of this policy is for Fleet Factors to control its impact on the environment
through the following objectives:
•Minimise our contribution to pollution by reducing our carbon emissions and
waste together with recycling, reusing and reducing wherever possible
•Assess the adverse effects our operations/partnerships may have on the
environment and seek ways to minimise them
•Introduce into our procurement practice supplier selection criteria based on a
minimum environmental standard
•Promote environmental awareness to all stakeholders including the induction of
new staff and volunteers
•Monitor, report and reduce carbon emissions specifically from heat, power and
travel
We will achieve the objectives through the following activities:
•Selecting the most appropriate form of travel considering carbon emissions as well as
other business factors; and only travel when necessary
•Ensuring that our buildings are operated in such a manner so to optimise use and reduce
emissions through control of heat and power
•Reducing waste through control of packaging for bought in goods
•Recycling all appropriate waste such as paper, card, metals and plastics
•Reducing our use of plastics, particularly single use plastics
•Ensuring that the induction process for new starters contains information about this
policy and obligations to adhere to it
•Challenging behaviour of colleagues who act in a manner contrary to this policy
•Implementing a central reporting mechanism via the QHSE Manager to allow senior
management to be informed about environmental issues within the organisation and
achievements made in mitigating the overall environmental impact
•Expanding the availability and use of new technologies to allow for changes in behaviour
particularly around travel, e.g., greater use of video conferencing and expand the
virtualisation of IT systems
•Including in supplier selection and review criteria minimum environmental standards
expected of current and future suppliers for bought in goods and services
•Providing regular periodic reports for the Board showing carbon emissions generated
from electricity, gas and travel
